0 · Contracting party & governing law

This service is operated by CHAIN FIR CAPITAL MANAGEMENT CO., LIMITED (Chainfir Capital · 链杉资本), New Zealand company number 8225373, NZBN 9429049664744, incorporated 2021-08-26, registered office c/o WG Associates Limited, 6 Thomas Rielly Avenue, Hobsonville, Auckland 0618, New Zealand (Companies Office record). Any agreement between you and this service is made with that entity. These terms and any dispute arising from the service are governed by the laws of New Zealand, with the courts of New Zealand having jurisdiction. For a signed contract, bank transfer or formal invoice, email our business address with the entity name and billing details.

1 · What CVIN provides

cvin.org is a registration and resolution facility for compute hardware: operators register devices and observations for free, and anyone can resolve a CVIN to its identity and public history for free. Paid services are formal verification reports (fixed content + serial number + signature) and metered or subscription API access.

2 · What CVIN is NOT

CVIN states registration facts only. It is not a credit opinion, not a liability finding, and not a valuation, and it does not replace legal or physical due diligence. A report is verifiable evidence of a registry snapshot at issuance time — it is not a warranty of a device's physical condition.

3 · Pricing & payments

Verification report: USDC on Base via x402 ($2), Alipay/WeChat Pay in mainland China (¥14.9), or international card ($2.99, card processing included; the invoice is issued by the Merchant of Record). All four routes deliver identical content: same numbering scheme, same signature verification. API access is $0.05 per call or by subscription — see Pricing.

4 · Delivery & refunds

Reports are digital goods, issued automatically on payment, and the serial number cannot be altered once generated. If no report appears within 15 minutes of a successful payment (status is visible on the checkout page), email us with the order id and we will re-issue it manually or refund in full. The report content matches the free preview by design — the preview is free, so please check it before buying. Apart from issuance failure, digital goods are non-refundable once issued.

5 · Data & registrant obligations

Registrants are responsible for what they register. The CVIN format prevents typos but does not stop a registrant from submitting false information: the hash chain proves that a record was not altered, not that a record is true. Malicious registration (forged history, duplicate pledge entries) can be flagged and frozen through the governance process (see the governance charter).

6 · Liability

The service is provided "as is". In any event, CVIN's aggregate liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for the service giving rise to the claim.

7 · Changes

Changes to these terms are published on this page before their effective date. The registry and the report ledger are append-only, so prior deliveries under prior terms are unaffected. Contact: hi@cvin.org.
